The following motion was carried at the 182nd<\/sup> Synod of the Diocese of Huron in London Ontario, on Monday, May 16, 2022. Appendix #1 (attached) was circulated with the motion.<\/p>\n CHARLES INGLIS MOTION<\/strong><\/p>\n Motion<\/u><\/p>\n Moved by: The Rev\u2019d Robert Clifford \u201cBE IT RESOLVED THAT <\/strong>the Synod of the Diocese of Huron memorialize the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada to rewrite the propers and supporting materials intended for use on the Commemoration of the Consecration of Charles Inglis (August 12 \u2013 First Anglican Bishop in Canada, 1787) to contextualize his legacy, with the assistance of the descendants of Inglis\u2019 enslaved workers, if they can be identified, with scholars, liturgists, theologians, and others from the African Canadian community (Anglican and other interested groups or individuals).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CARRIED<\/strong><\/p>\n
